Trip to Rock Island, IL (Quad Cities) for 2 weeks. Where to stay? What to do?

I;m being deployed to Rock Island Arsenal, IL for 2 weeks and I;m afraid I will stay at the wrong place with nothing to do!! Except work of course. I saw the Jumer;s casino and it seems Chicago is hours aways. Any suggestions as to where to stay (nice people/nice hotel) and what things I could get into?
