Why is Europe a continent? Really!? Isn;t that the ultimate ego trip?

I take it the point you are making is that Europe, Asia and Africa occupy the same landmass, so technically could be considered a single super-continent, right? The UN say that "continent" can refer not only to a geographical continent, but it may also be defined on grounds of culture and politics, and Europe;s culture and politics is undoubtedly different from Asia. The boundary to the east is normally considered to be the Ural mountains, the Caucusus mountains and the Black Sea.|||what are you talking about? Europe is a continent because it has a group of countries, with separate cultures, wealth, climate, geography. I hate it when people like to think of europe as a country. It is not. Each country is unique and could never all work together as one.|||are you serious? did not know that Europe is a continent? OMG, in what world you live? here;s some info for you : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent
